One more half hour…

I’m just wondering if I can make it. I am like a cat at the zoo that is pacing back and forth. Wearing a path in the floor. Well that much be overstating it a tad. But I am ready to get the heck out of Dodge and start the launch sequence for my vacation. I was thinking to myself that I am probably not going to get a lot of writing done over the course of the next week to ten days so I might want to get a post in before everything kicks off.

First thing is tonight is golf night at The Creek. Its sunny and 82 as I type this so it should be a beautiful night for it. After golf I am looking forward to some wings and Za, while watching the Cavs kick the shit out of the Pistons (I know that may be a reach but I am thinking positive).

Tomorrow is a vacation day to go play some golf at Yankee Run. Weather looks good. And my thought is that a day away from the office to go golfing surely can’t be all that bad.

After that the weekend is open with the exception of a BBQ on Sunday night. I am quite certain that more things will arise for the holiday weekend. We’ll have to wait and see.

The other thing that I wanted to share was the new banner on the right side of the page. If you are wondering how the hell that got there, let me explain. I got an email back a few weeks ago from a girl named Nikki who had come across my blog. She asked about my interest in WKRP in Cincinnati. I am going to assume that she did some sort of internet search and came across me back in the fall when I was doing my traveling to Cincy on a weekly basis. I had made a few remarks about the show, but it was more just my snappy way of naming my columns.

(Which by the way is one of the hardest parts of writing these things. I usually try to be clever and tie them in somehow)

Anyway she asked if I would be interested in reviewing Season One of WKRP which was just released on DVD last month. I thought that was a pretty cool idea. I got my package in the mail yesterday with Season One of WKRP. Over the course of the next couple weeks I will sit down and see if can write a professional objective review of the DVD set. This week will be a bad time for it with the holiday and my travels but I am looking forward to watching them. Maybe I can make this some sort of habit and get the benefits that come along with it.

OK…I am cutting this short and heading to the golf course. If I don’t check in for a while I hope y’all will understand!

And then there were 8...

Seeing as how I am getting on a bird and looking for some warm weather, it is as if the Overlords are looking down and trying to help make things pass on by a little quicker. My schedule for this week is taking shape so that I will be tied up at work with various tasks along with the social calendar looking the same way. Today may be the exception for work, but I can try and deal with that.

(ed note: I had typed this up while at work this morning before I really got going at work. I had a few things pop up and for the record the day whizzed on by)

Here is what I am looking at – One of the Directors here is throwing us a bowling party/team building event Tuesday. It’s supposed to kick off at 11:30 and go until 4:30. In my eyes, I would say that is pretty much my entire day! I have heard that it’s a little corny with some of the team building stuff but if it gets me out of the office for a day, I am not going to complain.

Wednesday we have a meeting scheduled with the upper levels guys that is scheduled from 9am until 1pm with lunch being served. It sounds like it may be a dry long deal but it will be time away from the grind of working. I can sit there and look like I’m paying attention but my mind will be thinking of beaches and margaritas.

Thursday is after work golf day along with my last workday of the week. Work may be a normal schedule but I will surely be looking towards the holiday weekend and the impending vacation.

Friday is a golf outing with Matt and Mark at Yankee Run. They have played in this the last couple of years, but this is my first trip. I’m definitely looking forward to that as well. I'm keeping the fingers crossed that the weather works out for us.

And then it will be onto a holiday weekend, which should include more golf, drinking, cook-outs, and bonfires. Good times all the way around there!

I am usually not the kind of guy to wish the time away but anything to help me get to the weekend of golf and Florida next week can’t be a bad thing.
